Aesthetics - One Thing

I learned a little bit about aesthetics reading about it in the art world. Aesthetics is "a branch of philosophy that examines the nature of art and our experience of it." (Prof. Severyn T. Bruyn). I found this statement to be very true as we have aesthetic experiences all the time. The concept of aesthetics was generated in the 18th century in England where the classification of fine arts was created, with different forms of art.

I think everyone has some form of experience with art and it can be very inspirational. There are many different feelings that emerge with all of the arts and those feelings and experiences are truly what aesthetics resemble.

  1. Isn't it interesting that aesthetics were not really thought about until the 1700s? The thousands of years that we have been grouped together in a society, some of us making art, we had not given thought, or at least not formally, to the idea of there being fine art or aesthetics.
